resolve-color

resolve-color is a cursor rule for Cursor from mrsuber/davinci-resolve-mcp. It costs 38 tokens per session (357 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of resolve-color, MIT.

A set of instructions for color correction and grading in DaVinci Resolve, including matching shots and applying visual looks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Correcting color, matching shots, developing looks, and applying or modifying LUTs, CDLs, DRX grades, and copied grades.
Why use it?
It helps an agent inspect rendered frames, calculate or prepare grade changes, and apply them with explicit project locations and safeguards.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00038 $0.00357
Opus 5 $0.00019 $0.00179
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00071
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00036

Security

Grade A, and why

resolve-color scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Resolve Color / Grade work. Apply when: grading, correcting, shot matching, developing looks, or applying/modifying LUTs, CDLs, DRX grades, or copied grades.

Two servers — compute offline, apply live:

  • Live (running Resolve, davinci-resolve): timeline_item_color (grade_boundary_report / safe_set_cdl / safe_apply_drx / grade_version_*), graph, gallery_stills, color_group
  • Offline (.drp/.drt/.drx + DB, no Resolve, davinci-resolve-advanced): drx (match_to_reference, skin_match, shot_match, grade_transfer, cdl_io, lut_apply, relayout, scope_read, verify_grade, …), project_db
  • Key rule: Frame-first — inspect Resolve-rendered frames before applying any grade/look/LUT/CDL/DRX. Compute offline, apply live. drx generate/merge default to space="ui"; a warnings array means a hue curve rendered FLAT. safe_apply_drx defaults to V1/item0 — pass explicit track/item indices and back up a still first.

Depth: docs/kernels/color-grade-kernel.md + docs/guides/color-decision-guide.md. On-demand in any MCP client: the /color_grade_workflow slash prompt. Claude Code skill: resolve-color. Never modify/transcode/derive source media (AGENTS.md).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
