solana-transaction-safety

A set of safety rules for handling Solana transactions, which are signed records of actions on the Solana blockchain. It covers amount conversion, fees, status checks, network choice, and private-key protection.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building or reviewing Solana transfers, choosing devnet or mainnet, adding time-sensitive fees, confirming transaction results, and protecting private keys.
Why use it?
It reduces the risk of sending the wrong amount, testing with real funds, assuming a failed transaction succeeded, or exposing secret wallet credentials.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00272 $0.00272
Opus 5 $0.00136 $0.00136
Sonnet 5 $0.00054 $0.00054
Haiku 4.5 $0.00027 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

solana-transaction-safety scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Solana Transaction Safety

Amount Conversion

  • Always use LAMPORTS_PER_SOL from @solana/web3.js for SOL-to-lamport conversion. Never hardcode 1000000000 or any other magic number.

Priority Fees

  • For time-sensitive transactions, add priority fees using ComputeBudgetProgram.setComputeUnitPrice() from @solana/web3.js. This helps ensure transactions are processed quickly during network congestion.

Transaction Verification

  • Always verify transaction status after sending by checking the signature with connection.getSignatureStatus() or connection.confirmTransaction(). Do not assume a returned signature means the transaction succeeded.

Network Selection

  • Use https://api.devnet.solana.com (devnet) for testing and development.
  • Use https://api.mainnet-beta.solana.com (mainnet-beta) for production.
  • Never test against mainnet with real funds during development.

Key Security

  • Never expose private keys in code. Phantom handles all signing internally through its SDK. There is no need to access or manage private keys directly.
  • Never ask users to input their seed phrase or private key.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

solana-transaction-safety is a cursor rule published in the GitHub repository phantom/phantom-agent-kit (11 stars, last pushed 15d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 272 tokens to every session, about $0.0014 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
