  • Always use --context=$CONTEXT with every kubectl command.
  • Set KUBECONFIG from the runner-injected secret: export KUBECONFIG=$kubeconfig.
  • Use --request-timeout=30s on kubectl calls to avoid runner timeouts.
  • For database queries, target replica pods unless the RUNWHEN.md says otherwise.
  • Use set -euo pipefail at the top of bash scripts.
  • Print diagnostic info to stdout for the report; write structured issues to FD 3.
  • Issue severity: 1=critical (service down), 2=high (degraded), 3=medium (warning), 4=low (informational).
