Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00437 $0.00437
Opus 5 $0.00218 $0.00218
Sonnet 5 $0.00087 $0.00087
Haiku 4.5 $0.00044 $0.00044

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-playbook-reference scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

AI Playbook Reference

This repository is the AI Playbook itself (a reference guide app plus a portable example package at ai-playbook/). Migrated from the legacy single .cursorrules file — Cursor's Agent mode ignores that format, so this .mdc rule replaces it.

Working on this repo's own app (src/)

This is a React 19 + TypeScript + Vite app using Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui. See docs/PROJECT_CONTEXT.md for the full stack. No playbook lookup needed for UI work.

Working on the example package (ai-playbook/)

Canonical source for every agent/skill is ai-playbook/.claude/skills/ and ai-playbook/.claude/agents/ — edit there first, then port changes to ai-playbook/.github/, ai-playbook/.cursor/, and ai-playbook/AGENTS.md + ai-playbook/.agents/skills/ using the mapping in ai-playbook/.claude/skills/ai-tool-setup/references/skill-routing.md.

Detect project type: node ai-playbook/tools/project-detect.mjs <targetFolder>

Scope Enforcement

  • Only modify files within the stated target project folder.
  • Run node ai-playbook/tools/scope-guard.mjs <targetFolder> <changedFiles...> before finalizing changes to the example package.

Code Style

  • Minimal diffs: change only the lines necessary.
  • Do not reformat unrelated code or reorganize imports.
  • Use forward slashes in all file paths.

Security

  • Never hardcode secrets, API keys, or passwords.
  • Validate and sanitize all user inputs.

Testing

  • Run npm test to execute the test suite.
  • Run npm run lint for linting.
  • Run npx tsc --noEmit for type checking.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
