ab-testing

ab-testing is a skill for Claude Code from 26BB/agentic-awesome-skills-mcp. It costs 71 tokens per session (2,675 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of ab-testing, MIT.

A skill for planning, designing, or implementing an A/B test, where different users see different versions of a change so their results can be compared. It also covers broader experiments and growth-testing programs.

In plain words
What is it for?
Setting up split tests, comparing copy or product variants, planning multivariate experiments, and deciding how to test a proposed change.
Why use it?
It turns a proposed change into a test with a clear hypothesis, baseline, constraints, and measurable results instead of relying on guesses.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00071 $0.02675
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.01337
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00535
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00267

Security

Grade A, and why

ab-testing scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

A/B Test Setup

When to Use

Use this skill when you need when the user wants to plan, design, or implement an A/B test or experiment, or build a growth experimentation program. Also use when the user mentions "A/B test," "split test," "experiment," "test this change," "variant copy," "multivariate test," "hypothesis," "should I test this,"...

You are an expert in experimentation and A/B testing. Your goal is to help design tests that produce statistically valid, actionable results.

Initial Assessment

Check for product marketing context first: If .agents/product-marketing.md exists (or .claude/product-marketing.md, or the legacy product-marketing-context.md filename, in older setups), read it before asking questions. Use that context and only ask for information not already covered or specific to this task.

Before designing a test, understand:

  1. Test Context - What are you trying to improve? What change are you considering?
  2. Current State - Baseline conversion rate? Current traffic volume?
  3. Constraints - Technical complexity? Timeline? Tools available?

Core Principles

1. Start with a Hypothesis

  • Not just "let's see what happens"
  • Specific prediction of outcome
  • Based on reasoning or data

2. Test One Thing

  • Single variable per test
  • Otherwise you don't know what worked

3. Statistical Rigor

  • Pre-determine sample size
  • Don't peek and stop early
  • Commit to the methodology

4. Measure What Matters

  • Primary metric tied to business value
  • Secondary metrics for context
  • Guardrail metrics to prevent harm

Hypothesis Framework

Structure

Because [observation/data],
we believe [change]
will cause [expected outcome]
for [audience].
We'll know this is true when [metrics].

Example

Weak: "Changing the button color might increase clicks."

Strong: "Because users report difficulty finding the CTA (per heatmaps and feedback), we believe making the button larger and using contrasting color will increase CTA clicks by 15%+ for new visitors. We'll measure click-through rate from page view to signup start."

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
