add-module

add-module is a skill for Claude Code from a-pavithraa/springboot-skills-marketplace. It costs 58 tokens per session (348 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for adding a new application module to a Spring Modulith project, a Spring application organised into separately bounded feature areas. It defines the package layout, allowed communication between modules, and a test for each new module.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps create a new feature area, expose its public services or events, keep implementation details private, add a module-scoped integration test, and register the module in the project instructions.
Why use it?
It helps keep feature areas from depending on one another's internal code and catches dependency cycles or boundary violations during verification. It also makes each module testable through its public interface.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00058 $0.00348
Opus 5.5 $0.00023 $0.00139
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00070
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

add-module scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Add a module

Each direct subpackage of {{BASE_PACKAGE}} is a module. ./mvnw verify fails if another module reaches into its nested packages or if modules form a cycle.

  1. Pick a name: a noun for the capability, such as billing, not billingservice or common. Check that no existing module owns it; the Modules section of AGENTS.md lists them.
  2. Create the layout:
{{BASE_PACKAGE}}.<module> public API: the service other modules call, the records it takes and returns, its events
{{BASE_PACKAGE}}.<module>.internal everything else: implementation, entities, repositories, controllers

Keep the top-level package small. Entities and repositories never go in it.
  3. Let other modules talk to it in one of two ways only: call a type in its top-level package, or listen for an event it publishes (@ApplicationModuleListener). Prefer events when the caller doesn't need an answer.
  4. Add src/test/java/{{BASE_PATH}}/<module>/<Module>ModuleTests.java, annotated @ApplicationModuleTest, which starts only this module. Test the module through its public API.
  5. Add one line for the module to the Modules section of AGENTS.md.
  6. Run ./mvnw verify.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

add-module is a skill published in the GitHub repository a-pavithraa/springboot-skills-marketplace (80 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 58 tokens to every session and 348 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-24.
