implement-issue

implement-issue is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from aaddrick/claude-pipeline. It costs 20 tokens per session (868 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An automated workflow for implementing a GitHub issue from an issue number and a base branch. It runs setup, research, planning, implementation, and status tracking.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to implement one GitHub issue end to end, optionally choosing a specialist agent and monitoring the run through its status file.
Why use it?
It removes the need to manually coordinate the steps involved in taking an issue from description to code changes. Separate run logs show the current stage and progress.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00020 $0.00868
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00434
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00174
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00087

Measured 4d ago against content hash 809eb15da229, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

implement-issue scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 114 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Implement Issue

End-to-end issue implementation via orchestrator script.

Announce at start: "Using implement-issue to run orchestrator for #$ISSUE against $BRANCH"

Arguments:

  • $1 — GitHub issue number (required)
  • $2 — Base branch name (required)

Invocation

Immediately launch the orchestrator:

.claude/scripts/implement-issue-orchestrator.sh \
  --issue $ISSUE_NUMBER \
  --branch $BASE_BRANCH

Or with explicit agent override:

.claude/scripts/implement-issue-orchestrator.sh \
  --issue $ISSUE_NUMBER \
  --branch $BASE_BRANCH \
  --agent bulletproof-frontend-developer

Monitoring

Each run creates its own status.json inside the log directory:

# Find the latest run's status file
jq . logs/implement-issue/issue-${ISSUE_NUMBER}-*/status.json

Watch live:

# Replace with your actual log dir path (shown at startup)
watch -n 5 'jq -c "{state,stage:.current_stage,task:.current_task,quality:.quality_iterations}" logs/implement-issue/issue-123-20260221-153045-12345/status.json'

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
