Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00045 | $0.00714 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00018 | $0.00286 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00009 | $0.00143 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00005 | $0.00071 |
Grade A, and why
python-linting scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 15d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 97 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Python Linting Skill
Run this skill when asked to lint, format, check style, or check types for Python code.
Step 1 — Detect available tooling
Check which linting/formatting tools are configured or installed, in order of preference:
# Config files (indicate which tool the project already uses)
ls pyproject.toml setup.cfg .flake8 mypy.ini 2>/dev/null
# Installed tools
which ruff black flake8 mypy isort 2>/dev/null
Prefer ruff if configured or installed — it replaces flake8, isort, and much of pylint with a single fast tool. Fall back to flake8 + black + isort if ruff is not available. Do not install new tools without asking the user first.
Step 2 — Run linting (read-only check)
# Preferred
ruff check .
# Fallback
flake8 .
Report all findings grouped by file, with line numbers and rule codes.
Step 3 — Run formatting check
# Preferred
ruff format --check --diff .
# Fallback
black --check --diff .
isort --check-only --diff .
Show the proposed diff to the user before applying any formatting changes.
Step 4 — Run type checking (if type hints are used)
mypy .
Skip this step if the project has no type hints and no mypy configuration.
Step 5 — Apply fixes (only with user confirmation)
# Preferred
ruff check --fix .
ruff format .
# Fallback
black .
isort .
Only run auto-fix commands after showing the user what will change and getting explicit confirmation. Never auto-fix mypy type errors — these require manual code changes.
Standard conventions enforced
- Line length: 88 (black/ruff default) or 79 (PEP 8 strict) — follow whatever the project's config specifies; do not override it.
- Import order: standard library, then third-party, then local — grouped and alphabetized (
isort/ruffdefault). - Naming:
snake_casefor functions/variables,PascalCasefor classes,UPPER_SNAKE_CASEfor constants (PEP 8). - No unused imports or variables.
- No bare
except:clauses — always catch specific exceptions.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

python-linting is a skill published in the GitHub repository abdullahkhawer/devops-skills (8 stars, last pushed 15d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 45 tokens to every session and 714 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-23.
