deploy

deploy is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from AbdulmalekAlshugaa/claude-agents-fullstack. It costs 49 tokens per session (697 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A deployment checklist for Next.js applications that use MongoDB, covering hosting, database setup, environment variables, and production readiness.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for deploying to Vercel or Docker/Node hosting, configuring MongoDB Atlas, managing environment settings, and preparing CI and production systems.
Why use it?
It helps identify the setup and configuration work needed before an application goes live.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00049 $0.00697
Opus 5.5 $0.00020 $0.00279
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00139
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00070

Security

Grade A, and why

deploy scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Deploy (Vercel + Neon Postgres by default; Atlas for Mongo)

Pre-deploy checklist

  • pnpm build passes locally with no type errors or lint errors.
  • All env vars in .env.example exist in the hosting env; lib/env.ts Zod parse will fail the build/boot loudly if not — that's the point.
  • No secrets in NEXT_PUBLIC_* vars. Grep for NEXT_PUBLIC before shipping.
  • /api/health route exists: connects to DB, returns { ok: true } — used for uptime checks.
  • List endpoints are paginated; mutations are auth-checked (spot-check with the code-reviewer agent).
  • Postgres: committed Drizzle migrations are up to date (pnpm drizzle-kit generate produces no diff) and db:migrate runs in the deploy step, never db:push against prod.

Hosted Postgres (Neon or similar)

  • Serverless driver or connection pooling (Neon pools for you; on plain Postgres use pgBouncer) — serverless functions without pooling exhaust connections.
  • One database per app, one role per app with least privilege — never the superuser in DATABASE_URL.
  • Point preview deployments at a branch/staging database, never prod. Neon branches map 1:1 to Vercel preview branches nicely.
  • Backups/PITR on before real users exist.

MongoDB Atlas (Mongo projects)

  • Free M0 cluster for hobby, M10+ for anything real.
  • Network access: Vercel has no static IPs on hobby — allow 0.0.0.0/0 and rely on strong credentials + TLS, or use Atlas + Vercel integration. Note this tradeoff in the README.
  • Dedicated DB user per app with readWrite on that app's database only — never the admin user.
  • Connection string in MONGODB_URI; Mongoose pools automatically. In serverless, the cached-on-globalThis connection pattern (from the scaffold skill) is what prevents connection storms.
  • Enable Atlas backups on any paid tier before real users exist.

Vercel

  • Import the repo, framework auto-detected. Set env vars for Production and Preview separately (preview points at a staging DB, never prod).
  • Every PR gets a preview deployment — test the golden path there before merging.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

deploy is a skill published in the GitHub repository AbdulmalekAlshugaa/claude-agents-fullstack (4 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 49 tokens to every session and 697 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
