blender-archetype-library

blender-archetype-library is a skill for Codex from abossard/ledfx-mcp. It costs 49 tokens per session (862 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of reusable patterns for building Blender scenes and masks for LedFX, software that creates audio-reactive lighting visuals. It groups effects into four visual styles: wobble, flow, hard, and bullet.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for designing or refactoring LedFX blender scenes, choosing effects by layer, and tuning brightness, speed, and audio reactivity.
Why use it?
It helps keep layered lighting scenes readable and audio-responsive by defining which effects belong in the background, foreground, and mask roles.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00049 $0.00862
Opus 5 $0.00024 $0.00431
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00172
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00086

Security

Grade A, and why

blender-archetype-library scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Blender Archetype Library

Workflow

  1. Choose an archetype by desired feel: wobble, flow, hard, or bullet.
  2. Select background/foreground/mask effects per archetype from the lists below.
  3. Ensure 1-2 reactive layers; avoid 0 or 3 reactive layers.
  4. Tune brightness and speed by role (background low, foreground primary, mask structural).
  5. Apply scene-specific overrides only on schema-supported keys.

Blender Layer Rules

Background → ambient texture (low brightness ≤ 0.7, low reactivity ≤ 0.3)
Foreground → primary visual (main color/motion)
Mask → MUST be audio-reactive (controls pixel reveal)

⛔ Never use as mask: gradient, fade, singleColor, rainbow, random_flash
(These are Non-Reactive in LedFX — they produce static, lifeless blenders)

Effect Selection by Role

✅ Valid Mask Effects (audio-reactive)

Beat-locked (tightest): bar, strobe, real_strobe, multiBar
Frequency spectrum: energy, equalizer, wavelength, bands, spectrum, pitchSpectrum, filter, magnitude
Color zones: scroll, scroll_plus, hierarchy, rain
Subtle: vumeter, glitch

✅ Good Foreground Effects

Flowing: fire, lava_lamp, melt, water, crawler, energy2, melt_and_sparkle, marching
Directional: scan, scan_and_flare, scan_multi, scroll, blade_power_plus
2D matrix: plasma2d, plasmawled, concentric, flame2d, equalizer2d, soap2d
Beat-driven: bar, strobe, keybeat2d, power

✅ Good Background Effects

Non-reactive (pure ambient): gradient, fade, singleColor, rainbow
Soft reactive: lava_lamp (low reactivity), fire (low intensity), noise2d, blocks, digitalrain2d

Archetypes

Wobble Bed

  • Feel: calm, musical, warm
  • Background: gradient or fade
  • Foreground: lava_lamp or melt
  • Mask: wavelength or scroll

Flow Mist

  • Feel: soft, flowing, melodic
  • Background: fade or gradient
  • Foreground: water or crawler
  • Mask: hierarchy or energy

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
