Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00117 $0.03047
Opus 5.5 $0.00047 $0.01219
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00023 $0.00609
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00305

Measured today against content hash e34ea08b0353, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ebay-cli scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

<essential_principles> MANDATORY: Consult the adjacent usage.json at <cli-tools-root>/_repo/skills/<tool>-cli/usage.json before executing ANY ebay command. This file contains complete command syntax, all arguments, all options, and usage instructions for every command. Never guess at command syntax.

The plan is metered, so treat requests as a budget:

  • --limit accepts up to 960. Every 200 results is one request against the monthly quota, and a --limit above 200 prints its cost on stderr first. Ask for the smallest --limit that answers the question.
  • --sold searches ARE cached (a week by default), so repeating an identical sold search costs nothing. Do not add --no-cache unless the caller needs provably fresh data.
  • --active searches are NEVER cached, by design.
  • ebay quota reports the recorded plan usage and costs no request. Check it before a large batch of searches.
  • Unsold completed listings — --completed --no-sold, and a bare ebay listings search "<q>" with neither --sold nor --active. SoldComps returns sold or active listings, nothing in between. Always pass --sold or --active.
  • --sort ending (eBay's "ending soonest"), for active listings as well as completed. Use --sort newest or --sort price.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
