get-started

get-started is a skill for Claude Code from aeonfun/aeon. It costs 61 tokens per session (904 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A first-run setup skill for the Aeon plugin. Aeon is an agent that runs scheduled skills through GitHub Actions in the user's own GitHub repository, and this skill checks the connection and runs one skill as a demonstration.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after installation or when getting started to check the connected agent, show enabled skills and schedules, and run an initial skill.
Why use it?
It gives a new user a guided way to connect the plugin, discover what is enabled, and identify what still needs setup instead of starting with an unfamiliar agent.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00061 $0.00904
Opus 5.5 $0.00024 $0.00362
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00181
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00090

Security

Grade A, and why

get-started scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Get started with Aeon

Aeon is an agent that runs skills on a schedule with GitHub Actions in the user's own GitHub repo. This plugin connects to their Aeon agent through Aeon Connect (https://www.aeon.fun/connect/mcp).

1. Check the connection

Call list_skills.

  • It works: go to step 2.
  • It asks to sign in, or fails with an auth error: tell the user to connect Aeon (sign in with GitHub, then pick their agent on the "Connect an app" screen), then try again.
  • They have no agent yet: send them to https://www.aeon.fun/connect to create one (about two minutes: sign in with GitHub, create the repo, connect a model). Then connect the plugin again.

The connection works on one agent repo at a time. If the user allowed switching when they connected, list_instances shows their other Aeon repos and switch_instance moves to one. Only bring this up if they have more than one agent or ask about another repo.

2. Show what the agent does and what it still needs

From the list_skills result, tell the user in a few lines:

  • which repo the plugin is connected to,
  • how many skills are on, and the schedule of each one that is on,
  • two or three skills that are off and look useful, with one line each.

Keep it short. Do not list every skill.

Then call setup_status. If a model is not connected, or enabled skills are missing API keys, name what is missing and say where to add it: the Keys tab for this agent at https://www.aeon.fun/connect. setup_status gives key names only. Never ask for the values.

3. Run one skill

If a model is connected, offer to run heartbeat (a quick check that the agent works; it needs no setup). If the user agrees:

  1. Call run_skill with skill: "heartbeat".
  2. Follow the run. Some apps show a live runs view right in the chat; otherwise call get_run with the returned run_id every so often until status is completed. A run takes one to ten minutes; tell the user it is running and keep the chat useful meanwhile.
  3. If it succeeded, call read_output with skill: "heartbeat" and summarize what it found in a few lines.
  4. If it failed, get_run gives the likely reason (most often the model login is missing or expired). Explain it and the fix in plain words, and point to https://www.aeon.fun/connect to fix it.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

get-started is a skill published in the GitHub repository aeonfun/aeon (783 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 61 tokens to every session and 904 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-21.
