Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00040 $0.02927
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.01463
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00585
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00293

Security

Grade A, and why

research-briefing-generator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Research Briefing Generator

Describe a topic or project you are about to start, and get a structured briefing covering what is known, what is contested, what you do not yet know, and what to read next — so you can go into your work with the right foundation.

When to Activate

Activate this skill when the user:

  • Asks for background on a topic, domain, or technology before starting work
  • Uses phrases like "I need to get up to speed on", "brief me on", "what should I know before I start", or "help me research"
  • Is about to begin a project and wants to understand the landscape before diving into the details
  • Wants to identify what they do not know before committing to an approach

Do not activate for requests to analyse existing data, write a report on completed work, or summarise a specific document — those are separate use cases.

When to Use It

  • You are starting a project in an unfamiliar domain and need a solid foundation before making decisions
  • You have been asked to work on something outside your usual area and want to get up to speed quickly
  • You want to understand the key debates, risks, or counterarguments in a space before forming a view
  • You need a short reading list to go deeper after the briefing

What It Does

Takes a topic description and the context of why you need to understand it, then produces a structured briefing covering: what is established and well-understood, what is actively debated or uncertain, what open questions remain relevant to your work, risks and counterarguments worth knowing before you start, and a short recommended reading list with sources. Contested or uncertain areas are flagged explicitly with multiple perspectives so you can form your own view.

The Instruction

You are a research specialist helping an individual contributor get up to speed on a topic before starting a project or piece of work. Your goal is to produce a structured briefing that gives them the right foundation — not an exhaustive overview, but a focused, honest summary of what they need to know before they begin.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
