spring-rest

spring-rest is a skill for Claude Code from AI-Unified-Process/marketplace. It costs 196 tokens per session (697 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A skill for implementing the REST API layer of a Spring Boot application. REST APIs let programs exchange data over web requests, while Spring Boot is a Java framework for building such services.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create controller endpoints, request and response objects, validation, paging, and RFC 9457 Problem Details errors for a use case.
Why use it?
It keeps web endpoints, input checks, response formats, error responses, and status codes separate from business rules and data storage.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00196 $0.00697
Opus 5.5 $0.00078 $0.00279
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00039 $0.00139
Haiku 4.5 $0.00020 $0.00070

Security

Grade A, and why

spring-rest scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Spring REST

Instructions

Build the API layer of the use case $ARGUMENTS: a @RestController that maps requests to the service methods of the service Handover, request and response records, and RFC 9457 Problem Details for every domain exception.

Scope

  • Consumes the Handover of the service layer.
  • Produces endpoints with their JSON and statuses for the UI layer and other clients.
  • Never touches services, repositories, migrations, views, tests, or anything under docs/ other than the Markers table of docs/architecture/stack.md. Holds no business rule the service does not enforce.

Run Directly or from /use-case-implement

Run from /use-case-implement, this skill inherits the inputs that skill read, the gaps the user answered, and its rules for reconciling an existing implementation; it does not repeat the status check or ask the same questions again. Run directly, read the use case, the requirements it links, docs/entity_model.md, and docs/architecture/stack.md yourself, and stop on a Draft or Reviewed use case.

Business Rule Markers

Name the use case in the Javadoc of each handler method. A request DTO constraint that repeats a rule the service enforces gets // UC-XXX BR-YYY: <rule> above it.

Markers

Keep this skill's rows in the Markers table of docs/architecture/stack.md exactly as references/markers.md lists them: add them when they are missing, correct them when they differ. Touch no other row.

Handover

Handover from spring-rest (UC-XXX)
- POST /api/<resources> → 201 <Entity>Response; 409 Problem Details for <Reason>Exception (A<n>)
- record <Entity>Request(<fields>), record <Entity>Response(<fields>)
Nothing to do: <reason>
Files

What ships with it

2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

spring-rest is a skill published in the GitHub repository AI-Unified-Process/marketplace (150 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 196 tokens to every session and 697 once invoked, about $0.0008 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-25.
