DesktopGo: Skill for Codex

.agents/skills/commit/SKILL.md

commit is a skill for Codex from Aixbox/DesktopGo. It costs 82 tokens per session (1,429 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Inspect Git changes, run a bounded runnable-project and 1000-line preflight, split changes into atomic commits, write validated Conventional Commit messages using repository scopes and Chinese subjects, create the commits, and optionally push when explicitly requested. Use when the user asks to commit, submit, or push…

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: agents/openai.yaml present. Also seen: reads ~/.codex paths; installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions AGENTS.md.

This is Aixbox/DesktopGo's own configuration. It tells Codex how to work on DesktopGo itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything DesktopGo configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is node .codex/skills/maintain-modular-code/scripts/check-changed-files.mjs.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00082 $0.01429
Opus 5.5 $0.00033 $0.00572
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00286
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00143

Security

Grade A, and why

commit scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/validate-commit-message.mjs), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Commit Changes

Create accurate, atomic Git commits that follow the repository's Conventional Commits profile. Preserve unrelated work and make each commit independently understandable and revertible.

Required standard

Read references/commit-standard.md before planning commits or composing messages. Apply it to every commit created by this skill.

Workflow

1. Inspect

  • Run git status --short, git branch --show-current, git diff --stat, git diff, and git diff --cached.
  • Inspect relevant untracked files before including them. Read applicable AGENTS.md files.
  • Check recent subjects with git log -20 --pretty=format:"%s" to reuse established scopes without copying legacy formatting mistakes.
  • Stop if there are no changes, unresolved conflicts, an in-progress merge/rebase that the user did not ask to finish, or a detached HEAD.
  • Read diffs only to identify each change's purpose, ownership, dependencies, and suitable commit message. Do not perform a code review or judge implementation correctness.

2. Plan atomic commits

  • Group changes by one user-visible behavior, defect, refactor, or maintenance purpose. A commit must be independently understandable, verifiable, and safely revertible.
  • Keep implementation with its directly related tests, types, documentation, migrations, and lockfile changes.
  • Separate unrelated features, fixes, refactors, formatting, dependency upgrades, and generated artifacts.
  • If multiple clean groups exist and the user did not require one commit, create multiple commits in dependency order.
  • Ask only when ownership is ambiguous or splitting would require editing user changes. Never reset, clean, stash, discard, or rewrite unrelated work.

3. Run the bounded preflight once

  • Run the preflight once for the complete working-tree change set, before staging the first group. Do not repeat it for every atomic commit.
  • Record one absolute deadline 180 seconds after the preflight begins, then start these commands in parallel from the repository root:

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

commit is a skill published in the GitHub repository Aixbox/DesktopGo (63 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 82 tokens to every session and 1,429 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (runs shell commands). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
