animation-study

animation-study is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Akakaui/visual-browser-agent. It costs 26 tokens per session (801 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A web-animation study workflow for finding and recording transitions, keyframe animations, scrolling effects, page changes, loading states, and small interactions such as hover or focus.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect CSS and JavaScript motion, trigger animations, record interactions, and assess animation quality.
Why use it?
It replaces guesswork about how motion works by checking its triggers, timing, easing, and visible result.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00026 $0.00801
Opus 5 $0.00013 $0.00400
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00160
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00080

Security

Grade A, and why

animation-study scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Animation Study Skill

When to Use

Use this skill to analyze web animations:

  • CSS transitions/animations
  • JavaScript-driven animations
  • Scroll-triggered animations
  • Page transitions
  • Micro-interactions (hover, focus, click)
  • Loading states
  • Parallax effects

Instructions

Detection

  1. inspect_page to find animated elements (check for transition, animation CSS properties)
  2. Look for: @keyframes, transition, animation, transform, opacity changes
  3. Check for libraries: Framer Motion, GSAP, Lottie, CSS-in-JS

Triggering Animations

Common triggers:

  • Hover: page.hover(selector)
  • Click: click(selector)
  • Focus: page.focus(selector)
  • Scroll: page.evaluate(() => window.scrollTo(0, 500))
  • Load: Already captured on navigation
  • Custom: Execute trigger actions from config

Recording

  1. record_interaction(action: "start", requirement: "capture {animation}")
  2. Trigger animation
  3. Wait for duration + buffer (use clipAfterTriggerSeconds: 8)
  4. record_interaction(action: "stop")

Analysis

For each recording:

  1. review_visual_evidence with requirement: "analyze animation quality"
  2. Extract: duration, easing, keyframes, performance
  3. Check: 60fps, jank, layout thrashing, will-change usage

Key Metrics

  • Duration: Total animation time
  • Easing: Timing function (cubic-bezier, steps, etc.)
  • Properties: What changes (transform, opacity, width, height, etc.)
  • Performance: Frame drops, main thread blocking
  • Accessibility: prefers-reduced-motion support

Output

{
  "animations": [
    {
      "selector": ".button",
      "trigger": "hover",
      "duration": "200ms",
      "easing": "cubic-bezier(0.4, 0, 0.2, 1)",
      "properties": ["transform", "box-shadow"],
      "performance": "smooth",
      "reducedMotion": "supported",
      "evidence": "clips/button-hover.webm"
    }
  ]
}

Safety

  • Only record on current page
  • Limit recording duration (max 30 seconds per animation)
  • Don't trigger infinite animations
  • Respect prefers-reduced-motion

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

animation-study is a skill published in the GitHub repository Akakaui/visual-browser-agent (0 stars, last pushed 9d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 26 tokens to every session and 801 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
