browser-navigation

browser-navigation is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Akakaui/visual-browser-agent. It costs 24 tokens per session (595 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A browser navigation and interaction skill for opening pages, inspecting their structure, clicking controls, filling forms, and taking screenshots.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to navigate URLs, inspect page content and accessibility information, click buttons, complete forms, and document page states.
Why use it?
It provides a consistent way to operate websites while checking elements before interacting with them and handling validation errors.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00024 $0.00595
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00298
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00119
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00060

Measured 3d ago against content hash 5c9fc3ceb65f, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

browser-navigation scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Browser Navigation Skill

When to Use

Use this skill for any task that requires basic browser navigation and interaction:

  • Navigating to URLs
  • Clicking elements
  • Filling forms
  • Basic page inspection
  • Taking screenshots for documentation

Instructions

Navigation

  1. Always use browser_connect first if not already connected
  2. Use navigate with appropriate waitUntil (default: domcontentloaded)
  3. After navigation, capture a screenshot if observation.screenshotOnNavigation is enabled
  4. Use inspect_page to get structured page data

Clicking

  1. Use inspect_page first to find the correct selector
  2. Use click with the selector
  3. Wait for navigation or state change if needed
  4. Capture screenshot if observation.screenshotOnStateChange is enabled

Form Filling

  1. Use inspect_page to find form field selectors
  2. Use fill for each field
  3. Use click for submit buttons
  4. Handle any validation errors

Page Inspection

  1. Use inspect_page with includeA11y: true for accessibility tree
  2. Use includeDOM: true only when needed (larger response)
  3. Filter by selector to focus on specific elements

Safety

  • Only interact with elements on the current page
  • Don't click elements that trigger downloads without explicit request
  • Don't fill sensitive fields (passwords, payment) without human approval
  • Respect allowedHosts in config

Examples

User: "Go to example.com and click the first link"
Agent:
1. browser_connect(mode: "extension")
2. navigate(url: "https://example.com")
3. inspect_page()
4. click(selector: "a:first-child")
5. capture_screenshot(action: "click first link")
User: "Fill the contact form with my info"
Agent:
1. inspect_page(selector: "form")
2. fill(selector: "#name", value: "John Doe")
3. fill(selector: "#email", value: "[email protected]")
4. fill(selector: "#message", value: "Hello")
5. click(selector: "button[type=submit]")
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
