Business Logic Vulnerabilities — Complete Deep Dive

Business Logic Vulnerabilities — Complete Deep Dive is a skill for Claude Code from akashrpatil/awesome-offensive-security-skills. It costs 28 tokens per session (1,258 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A PortSwigger deep-dive guide to business logic vulnerabilities, where an application follows incorrect rules even when its technical controls work. It includes lab workflows, payloads, bypass methods, and exploitation chains.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for BSCP preparation, PortSwigger labs, bug-bounty research, and learning how business-logic flaws can be combined.
Why use it?
It organizes practice material for finding and testing flaws in how an application handles actions, prices, permissions, or other business rules.

Skill for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: shipped in a Claude Code plugin.

Needs its repository: it reads a path above its own folder, which exists only inside the repository. The line is - [`_shared/references/elite-chaining-strategy.md`](../_shared/references/elite-chaining-strategy.md) — Exploit chaining methodology and high-payout chain patte.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00028 $0.01258
Opus 5 $0.00014 $0.00629
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00252
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00126

Security

Grade A, and why

Business Logic Vulnerabilities — Complete Deep Dive scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/process.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Business Logic Vulnerabilities — Complete Deep Dive

Deep-Dive Lab Playbook — Every PortSwigger lab variant with exact payloads, bypass techniques, and zero-day extensions. 🟢 Apprentice 🟡 Practitioner 🔴 Expert

When to Use

  • BSCP certification prep
  • Real-world bug bounty hunting
  • Building exploitation chains
  • Understanding bypass techniques

Prerequisites

  • Burp Suite Professional
  • Burp Collaborator / interactsh
  • Browser with proxy configured

Workflow

Phase 1: Reconnaissance

  • Identify input vectors, parameters, and application behavior.

Phase 2: Exploitation

  • Apply standard lab payloads.

Phase 3: Zero-Day Escalation

  • Fuzz filters, bypass WAFs, and chain with other vulns.

Lab Playbooks

Lab 1: Excessive client-side trust 🟢 APPRENTICE

Intercept purchase request, change price=100 to price=1. Server trusts client-sent price.

Lab 2: High-level logic vulnerability 🟡 PRACTITIONER

Set quantity=-1 → negative total. Or quantity so high it wraps around (integer overflow) → price becomes negative.

Lab 3: Inconsistent security controls 🟡 PRACTITIONER

Register with attacker email, then change email to @dontwannacry.com to get admin access.

Lab 4: Flawed business rules 🟡 PRACTITIONER

Alternate between two coupon codes: NEWCUST5 → SIGNUP30 → NEWCUST5 → SIGNUP30. System only blocks consecutive duplicates.

Lab 5: Low-level logic flaw 🟡 PRACTITIONER

Add quantity until price integer overflows past MAX_INT → wraps to negative. Add enough to bring total to small positive number.

Lab 6: Exceptional input handling 🟡 PRACTITIONER

255+ char email: [email protected] — email truncated to 255 chars, domain becomes @dontwannacry.com.

Lab 7: Weak isolation on dual-use endpoint 🟡 PRACTITIONER

Password change endpoint: remove current-password parameter entirely. Server doesn't require it for admin functionality.

Lab 8: Insufficient workflow validation 🟡 PRACTITIONER

After adding items, skip to order confirmation: POST /cart/order-confirmation without going through payment.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

Business Logic Vulnerabilities — Complete Deep Dive is a skill published in the GitHub repository akashrpatil/awesome-offensive-security-skills (5 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 28 tokens to every session and 1,258 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
