1. YHDYSSANAT — Yleisin virhetyyppi
Yhdyssanavirheet ovat suomen kielen yleisin kirjoitusvirhe, erityisesti tekoälyn tuottamassa tekstissä. Noudata näitä sääntöjä tarkasti.
1.1 Perusperiaate: milloin yhteen, milloin erikseen
Kun peräkkäiset sanat muodostavat kiinteän merkityskokonaisuuden, ne kirjoitetaan yhteen (= yhdyssana):
- aamupala, mustasukkainen, äidinkieli, hengitysilma
Kun sanat ovat lauseyhteydessä rinnakkain mutta eivät muodosta vakiintunutta kokonaisuutta, ne kirjoitetaan erikseen (= sanaliitto):
- talon katto, nuori kapinallinen, sen sijaan
1.2 Nominatiivialkuiset yhdyssanat
Kun sanajonon ensimmäinen osa on perusmuodossa (nominatiivissa) oleva substantiivi, kyseessä on AINA yhdyssana:
- aamupala (EI: aamu pala)
- tulikuuma (EI: tuli kuuma)
- rantakunto (EI: ranta kunto)
- verkkosivusto (EI: verkko sivusto)
- asiakaspalvelu (EI: asiakas palvelu)
- tietoturva (EI: tieto turva)
1.3 Genetiivialkuiset yhdyssanat vs. sanaliitot
Genetiivimuotoisella alkuosalla voi olla kyse joko yhdyssanasta tai sanaliitosta:
- äidinkieli (vakiintunut kokonaisuus → yhdyssana)
- äidin kieli (konkreettinen omistus → sanaliitto)
- maahanmuutto (vakiintunut termi → yhdyssana)
- tähän maahan muutto (konkreettinen tilanne → sanaliitto)
1.4 Adjektiivialkuiset yhdyssanat
Perusmuotoinen adjektiivi + substantiivi on yhdyssana, kun kokonaisuus on vakiintunut lajinnimi tai termi:
- harmaalokki, mustikka, pitkämekko, isoveli
Erikseen kun adjektiivi kuvaa substantiivia vapaasti:
- harmaa lokki (yksittäinen lokki, joka sattuu olemaan harmaa)
