ai-asset-pricing: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/compare-versions/SKILL.md

compare-versions is a skill for Claude Code from Alexander-M-Dickerson/ai-asset-pricing. It costs 14 tokens per session (294 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A text-comparison tool that places an earlier version beside a proposed revision and explains each change. It groups changes by reasons such as wording, terminology, precision, or structure.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after editing a document, or to compare a specific section and understand why its paragraphs changed.
Why use it?
It makes revisions easier to inspect and discuss instead of forcing readers to spot every difference manually.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00014 $0.00294
Opus 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00118
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00003 $0.00059
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00029

Measured 2mo ago against content hash cb00bd2b4f91, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

compare-versions scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Compare Versions Skill

Show a side-by-side comparison of old vs. new text after an edit, with rationale for each change.

Examples

  • /compare-versions -- compare after the most recent edit
  • /compare-versions introduction -- compare current vs. proposed introduction text

Workflow

  1. Identify the two text versions (before and after edit)
  2. Align paragraphs between versions
  3. For each changed paragraph, show:
    • Before: The original text
    • After: The revised text
    • Why: Category of change (banned word, terminology, voice, precision, concision, restructure)
  4. Summarize total changes by category

Output Format

COMPARISON: [section name]
==========================

CHANGE 1 [Banned word]:
Before: "...we utilize a comprehensive set of..."
After: "...we use a thorough set of..."

CHANGE 2 [Terminology]:
  Before: "...microstructure noise affects..."
  After: "...measurement error affects..."

[etc.]

SUMMARY:
- Banned words fixed: N
- Terminology corrections: N
- Voice improvements: N
- Precision additions: N
- Concision cuts: N
- Total changes: N

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
