statusline

statusline is a skill for Claude Code from Alexander-Tyagunov/magician. It costs 31 tokens per session (172 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A placeholder for configuring a Claude Code status line, which is the small status display shown by that separate coding tool. It does not configure a status line in Codex.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it only to identify that Claude Code status-line setup must be done in Claude Code itself.
Why use it?
It prevents unsupported configuration changes and makes clear that this add-on has no effect in Codex.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00031 $0.00172
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00086
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00034
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00017

Security

Grade B, and why

statusline scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

What it actually says

$statusline — Codex Adapter

Read ../../references/codex-adapter.md for boundaries. Do not execute the source skill's configuration steps in Codex.

Codex does not currently provide the Claude Code statusLine input/configuration contract consumed by magician-statusline. Report status-line configuration as unsupported in Codex and make no changes. Never invoke magician-ui, never edit ~/.claude/settings.json, and never record a preference on the user's behalf. If the user explicitly wants Claude Code configured, stop and ask them to run the Claude-side skill in Claude Code; this adapter must remain a no-op.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

It adds 31 tokens to every session and 172 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (reads agent configuration directories). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
