name-playwright-test

name-playwright-test is a skill for Codex from alexhvastovich/playwright-ai-pom-starter. It costs 67 tokens per session (420 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A naming guide for Playwright browser tests, which are automated checks that control a web browser. It assigns each test a stable ID and applies it consistently to the plan, file, headings, and test title.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding, renaming, generating, or reviewing Playwright scenarios, especially when checking test IDs, naming rules, file names, or traceability.
Why use it?
It prevents duplicate or changing test identities, making tests easier to trace even when their wording, selectors, or file locations change.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00067 $0.00420
Opus 5 $0.00034 $0.00210
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00084
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00042

Measured 12d ago against content hash 782e012b6051, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

name-playwright-test scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Name a Playwright test

Create one durable identity before generating test code.

Build the ID

Use <AREA>-<FLOW>-<NNN>:

  • AREA: product domain, such as AUTH, CART, or PROFILE;
  • FLOW: specific capability, such as LOGIN, LOGOUT, or CHECKOUT;
  • NNN: three-digit sequence within the area and flow.

Use uppercase ASCII letters and digits. Keep an existing ID when wording, selectors, or file location changes. Assign a new ID only for a distinct behavioral contract.

Check specs/ and tests/ for duplicates before assigning the next sequence.

Apply the identity

For AUTH-LOGIN-001:

Spec heading: AUTH-LOGIN-001 Valid credentials
File: tests/login/auth-login-001-valid-credentials.spec.ts
Describe: Authentication / Login
Test title: AUTH-LOGIN-001 accepts documented demo credentials

Rules:

  • Start the test title with the exact ID.
  • Use a present-tense behavioral outcome after the ID.
  • Use lowercase kebab-case for the file.
  • Keep the exact ID in the plan, file name, and test title.
  • Keep environment, browser, and implementation details out of the title.
  • Do not encode priority, assignee, date, or execution status in the ID.

Validate

Search for the ID and confirm it represents one scenario:

rg -n "AUTH-LOGIN-001" specs tests
npx playwright test --list

Reject ambiguous titles such as works, login test, or test 1.

What ships with it

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
