accessibility

accessibility is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from AmanKtyr/Tailor. It costs 35 tokens per session (542 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of web accessibility rules based on WCAG 2.1 AA, the commonly used standard for making websites usable by people with disabilities. It covers semantic HTML, keyboard use, focus, and ARIA.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when creating or changing forms, dialogs, menus, navigation, interactive controls, or visual styling.
Why use it?
It helps prevent interfaces that are difficult or impossible to use with keyboards, assistive technology, or other access needs.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00035 $0.00542
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00271
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00108
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00054

Security

Grade A, and why

accessibility scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Accessibility (a11y) Skill

Activate this skill when creating or modifying user interfaces, form inputs, modal dialogs, menus, navigation bars, interactive widgets, or visual styling.

Accessibility Law: Accessible software is usable software for everyone. Use semantic HTML first and manage focus rigorously.

1. Semantic HTML First (First Line of Defense)

  • Always prefer native HTML5 elements (<button>, <nav>, <main>, <dialog>, <header>, <article>, <section>, <aside>) over generic <div> or <span> elements with click handlers.
  • Do NOT add redundant ARIA attributes when native elements already provide implicit roles (e.g. avoid <button role="button"> or <nav role="navigation">).

2. Keyboard Navigation & Focus Management

  • Full Keyboard Operability: Every interactive element must be reachable and actionable via keyboard (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape, and arrow keys).
  • Visible Focus Indicators: Never remove focus outlines (outline: none without providing an accessible :focus-visible replacement).
  • Focus Trapping in Modal Dialogs:
    • When a modal opens, trap keyboard focus within the dialog container.
    • Pressing Escape must close the dialog.
    • When closed, restore focus back to the triggering element.

3. Forms & Labeling

  • Every form control (<input>, <select>, <textarea>) must have an associated <label for="inputId"> or aria-labelledby.
  • Provide clear, inline error messages linked to inputs via aria-describedby="errorId" and marked with aria-invalid="true".

4. Visual Contrast & Media

  • Color Contrast (WCAG 2.1 AA):
    • Normal text: Minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against its background.
    • Large text (18pt+ or 14pt bold): Minimum contrast ratio of 3.0:1.
    • Interactive UI components & graphical objects: Minimum 3.0:1.
  • Informative vs Decorative Images:
    • Informative images: Descriptive alt="User profile photo of Jane Doe".
    • Purely decorative images: Explicit empty alt="" and aria-hidden="true".

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

accessibility is a skill published in the GitHub repository AmanKtyr/Tailor (3 stars, last pushed 11d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 35 tokens to every session and 542 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
