react-doctor

react-doctor is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from amplifthq/opentag. It costs 42 tokens per session (281 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A React code-health scanner that checks React projects for possible security, performance, correctness, and architecture issues.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps inspect changed React files or run a broader React audit, with affected files and line numbers available in verbose output.
Why use it?
It gives a diagnostic starting point for changed or full React code without treating its score or findings as proof of a defect.

About the project

OpenTag connects Slack with coding agents running on a computer controlled by the user, so channel mentions can queue work and return status, decisions, and evidence in the same thread. It is for engineering teams that want to run agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor against local checkouts through the Agent Client Protocol.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00042 $0.00281
Opus 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00112
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00056
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00028

Measured 2d ago against content hash 0771f92e4ace, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

react-doctor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

React Doctor

Scans React codebases for security, performance, correctness, and architecture issues. Outputs a 0–100 health score.

Choose the scope

Use --diff for a changed-code diagnostic question. Omit it only when a full React code-health audit is requested or needed to investigate that question.

Treat findings and the score as diagnostic leads, not proof of a defect or a commit gate. Verify a finding against actual behavior and the task's scope before fixing it. Address real regressions introduced by the change; keep unrelated findings out of the task. Do not rerun merely to raise the score.

Command

npx -y react-doctor@latest . --verbose --diff
Flag Purpose
. Scan current directory
--verbose Show affected files and line numbers per rule
--diff Only scan changed files vs base branch
--score Output only the numeric score
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
