Getting it into your agent
It runs from inside its repository, so the clone comes first — what it calls does not travel with the file alone.

What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00148 | $0.03938 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00074 | $0.01969 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00030 | $0.00788 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00015 | $0.00394 |
Grade A, and why
aid-set-connector scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 274 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Set Connector
aid-set-connector <tool> <type> upserts one connector into .aid/connectors/ without
touching any other catalogued connector and without requiring — or triggering — an
/aid-discover cycle. It is the incremental, single-tool counterpart to aid-discover's ELICIT
step (.claude/skills/aid-discover/references/state-elicit.md Step E2): use it to add a
connector between discovery cycles, or to change an existing one's type or fields.
Absent from the mandatory pipeline flow. Like /aid-config and /aid-housekeep, this is an
optional, on-demand skill — no phase gate references it, and it never invokes /aid-discover.
Keyed by <tool> → one descriptor, one mutable connection_type per stem. Re-running this
skill against a stem that already exists updates that same descriptor in place — including
when <type> differs from what's on disk (a type transition). That is still a single UPDATE,
never a remove-then-add pair.
Pre-flight
DefaultorAuto-accept edits→ proceed.Plan mode→ STOP. This skill writes files under.aid/connectors/.- Requires exactly two positional arguments:
<tool><type>. One optional trailing flag:--rotate-secret(forces a fresh secret capture on an otherwise field-only, same-type, same-auth_methodupdate — Step 5).
Step 0: Validate arguments
- Fewer than 2 positional arguments → print and exit non-zero:
Usage: aid-set-connector <tool> <type> (type: mcp | api | ssh | cli) Example: aid-set-connector Jira mcp <type>MUST be one of the closed enummcp | api | ssh | cli. An unrecognized value is refused, not coerced — e.g.dbis not a value:
exit non-zero.Unknown type: <type> (expected one of: mcp, api, ssh, cli)- Any flag other than
--rotate-secretis unknown:
exit non-zero.Unknown argument: <flag> Usage: aid-set-connector <tool> <type> [--rotate-secret]
From here on, $TOOL names the resolved <tool> argument and $TYPE the resolved <type>
argument (already validated above) — used as shell variables in the bash snippets below, never as
literal angle-bracket text.
What ships with it
2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

aid-set-connector is a skill published in the GitHub repository AndreVianna/aid-methodology (5 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 148 tokens to every session and 3,938 once invoked, about $0.0007 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
