Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00065 | $0.01499 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00032 | $0.00749 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00013 | $0.00300 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00006 | $0.00150 |
Grade A, and why
scout scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 214 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
SCOUT
SCOUT is a triage skill for deciding whether a new thing should change what you do.
Use it when someone brings an outside signal and asks questions like:
- "Should I care about this?"
- "Is this useful for us?"
- "Where would this apply?"
- "Should we act on this now or save it for later?"
- "Does this change our current plan?"
SCOUT does not merely summarize. It decides whether the thing creates a decision delta.
Core distinction
- Research maps what the thing is.
- SCOUT decides whether the thing changes what you should do.
Verdicts
Return exactly one verdict.
- GO-now: There is a real apply edge to an active goal, project, workflow, product, or bottleneck, the first step is cheap enough, and acting now beats current alternatives.
- PARK: There is a real apply edge, but it is not worth acting on yet because timing, maturity, confidence, capacity, or priority is wrong. Include a clear revisit trigger.
- KILL: There is no meaningful apply edge, or the cost/risk outweighs the value. Include the disqualifier so the topic stays dead unless facts change.
Operating principle: scan before researching
Before deep research, check whether enough context already exists.
Use whatever context sources are available in the current environment:
- current conversation
- project docs
- local files
- team knowledge base
- memory system
- notes database
- prior decisions
- issue tracker
- CRM or analytics summaries, only if the user authorized that context
- web search, only when current external facts are needed
If prior context already contains a recent, sound take, do not re-run a full investigation. Check only the fact that could flip the verdict.
Branches
Choose one branch and say which branch you used.
1. Empty context → Full pass
Use when there is no useful prior context.
Steps:
- Identify what the thing is.
- Identify its mechanism: how it creates value or risk.
- Identify evidence quality: proof, examples, maturity, adoption, caveats.
- Project it onto active goals, projects, workflows, products, and bottlenecks.
- Score value, cost, maturity, urgency, and current-load fit.
- Return GO-now, PARK, or KILL.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

scout is a skill published in the GitHub repository AnkitClassicVision/ankit_shared_skills (11 stars, last pushed 27d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 65 tokens to every session and 1,499 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
