d3_architecture

d3_architecture is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from antoinebou12/uml-mcp. It costs 75 tokens per session (755 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for creating system and cloud architecture diagrams with provider and brand icons, nested groups, ports, and routed arrows. Cloud architecture shows how hosted services connect to form an application.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to map providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes alongside applications, AI services, databases, and external systems.
Why use it?
It helps document where services run and how data or requests move through a cloud system.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00075 $0.00755
Opus 5.5 $0.00030 $0.00302
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00151
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00076

Measured 2d ago against content hash f75382490e63, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

d3_architecture scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

d3_architecture diagram (uml-mcp plugin d3)

diagram_type: d3_architecture
Backend: plugin:d3 (bundled with uml-mcp, on by default)
Output formats: html, svg

System or cloud architecture (D3): boxes in nested groups with AWS, Azure, GCP and Kubernetes style icons, input/output ports, A*-routed straight arrows and draggable boxes. JSON; html or svg

Load the workflow skill uml-mcp-diagrams and the focused guide skill://uml-mcp-guides/d3-plugins/SKILL.md. This file is notation only; it does not add an MCP tool.

Example prompt

Our AI app: Cloudflare in front of a Vercel app, a LangChain agent calling Claude, OpenAI and Gemini, Postgres for data.

Notation tips

  • Node service keys draw real logos: aws:s3, gcp:run, tech:claude, tech:github, tech:vercel...
  • groups nest (region > vpc > subnet); provider is a top-level field, never a node field.
  • Call d3_catalog (when enabled) for every service key before writing source.

Styling

Pass theme (auto, dark or light) to generate_uml / generate_uml_image, or set it in the source. auto follows the reader's system in the HTML page and is dark in static SVG and PNG.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
