A GoAT diagram-writing skill for creating diagrams from ASCII art, the plain text characters used in terminal drawings. It renders that text as an SVG diagram.

Use it for small flows, relationships, and other diagrams that can be represented with aligned ASCII shapes, then validate or render them with uml-mcp.

It lets you sketch simple boxes and connections with characters instead of learning a larger diagram language. The text layout remains visible and easy to edit.

Render with uml-mcp

Set diagram_type to goat exactly.
Call validate_uml when the source is untrusted (prefer strict: true for Mermaid sequence).
Call generate_uml, generate_uml_image (chat PNG), or generate_uml_batch.
Pass theme when this skill's Themes section lists supported values.
Surface the returned url / playground (see the workflow skill).

Confirm formats with uml://formats or list_diagram_types when unsure.
