stack_diagram

stack_diagram is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from antoinebou12/uml-mcp. It costs 78 tokens per session (778 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A diagram format and workflow for showing a software stack as grouped tiles connected by labelled lines. It supports nested groups such as vendors or regions and can produce HTML or SVG diagrams.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps draw application, cloud, and service architectures with components such as web apps, databases, caches, vendors, regions, and deployment connections.
Why use it?
It gives developers a structured way to describe how services and components fit together instead of explaining the architecture only in prose. The format can also show request paths and deployment groupings.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00078 $0.00778
Opus 5.5 $0.00031 $0.00311
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00156
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00078

Security

Grade A, and why

stack_diagram scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

stack_diagram diagram (uml-mcp plugin stack-diagram)

diagram_type: stack_diagram
Backend: plugin:stack-diagram (bundled with uml-mcp, on by default)
Output formats: html, svg

Stack or cloud architecture diagram: icon tiles, nested vendor/region groups and labelled orthogonal edges, auto-laid out left-right or top-down in dark or light. JSON nodes, groups and edges; html or svg

Load the workflow skill uml-mcp-diagrams and the focused guide skill://uml-mcp-guides/stack-diagram/SKILL.md. This file is notation only; it does not add an MCP tool.

Example prompt

Draw my stack: Next.js and Hono on Vercel, Neon Postgres, Clerk for auth, Stripe for payments, GitHub Actions deploys. Left to right.

Notation tips

  • nodes (id, name, role, icon, group, tag), groups (id, name, parent, style), edges (from, to, label, style, step).
  • icon takes a brand (github, vercel, aws, claude...) for a real logo, or a glyph (database, cache, queue...).
  • direction: LR, RL, TB, BT. Add step numbers to show a request path.

Styling

Pass theme (auto, dark or light) to generate_uml / generate_uml_image, or set it in the source. auto follows the reader's system in the HTML page and is dark in static SVG and PNG.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
