svgbob

svgbob is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from antoinebou12/uml-mcp. It costs 56 tokens per session (505 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An ASCII diagram-writing guide for svgbob. ASCII art uses ordinary text characters such as lines, boxes, and arrows; svgbob converts that text into SVG graphics.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for quick architecture sketches and simple pipelines made from aligned boxes and arrows. The output is SVG.
Why use it?
It provides a simple way to sketch relationships without learning a formal diagram language. It also recommends layouts that are less likely to render incorrectly.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00056 $0.00505
Opus 5.5 $0.00022 $0.00202
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00101
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00051

Measured 14d ago against content hash 9de01eee8ff9, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

svgbob scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 14d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

diagram_type: svgbob
Backend: svgbob
Output formats: svg

ASCII art to SVG diagrams

Load the workflow skill uml-mcp-diagrams for URL-first replies, progressive discovery, and which MCP tool to call. This file is notation only; it does not add an MCP tool.

Notation tips

  • Prefer axis-aligned +---+ boxes and ----> arrows; diagonal / \ "balloon" shapes often mis-render in Kroki's svgbob.
  • Keep labels short; pad with spaces so left/right edges stay aligned.
  • One horizontal pipeline (Client → MCP → Kroki) reads best in chat thumbnails.
  • Good for quick architecture sketches; use PlantUML/Mermaid for formal UML.

Styling

  • Styling = ASCII geometry; prefer rounded .--. boxes for polish.
  • No MCP theme param.

Starter template

Render with uml-mcp

  1. Set diagram_type to svgbob exactly.
  2. Call validate_uml when the source is untrusted (prefer strict: true for Mermaid sequence).
  3. Call generate_uml, generate_uml_image (chat PNG), or generate_uml_batch.
  4. Pass theme when this skill's Themes section lists supported values.
  5. Surface the returned url / playground (see the workflow skill).

Confirm formats with uml://formats or list_diagram_types when unsure.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
