uml-mcp: Skill for Claude Code

.github/skills/uml-mcp-archify/SKILL.md

uml-mcp-archify is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from antoinebou12/uml-mcp. It costs 21 tokens per session (835 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A collection of tools for drawing architecture, workflow, and sequence diagrams with Archify. These diagrams show system parts, process stages, or messages exchanged over time.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to document software architecture, business processes, or request flows with grouped components, icons, arrows, and ordered steps.
Why use it?
It provides one place to choose the right diagram type and then validate and render the diagram as an image or interactive page.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00021 $0.00835
Opus 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00334
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00167
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00084

Measured yesterday against content hash c75f733d12f3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

uml-mcp-archify scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Archify diagrams

Follow skill://uml-mcp-diagrams/SKILL.md. Dashed, colour-coded containers, icon cards, a legend and three presets. The page lets readers click a node to focus it and shift-click another for the shortest path.

Types

Type Use for Example prompt
archify_architecture an architecture overview with colour-coded dashed groups, legend and presets Show our platform as an archify architecture with security, frontend, backend, message bus and database groups, blueprint preset.
archify_workflow a workflow or process with steps grouped into stages, top to bottom Draw our order fulfilment workflow: place order, take payment, pick and pack, ship, notify the customer.
archify_sequence a sequence diagram of calls and replies between participants Sequence diagram of a cache-miss request through web, API, auth, Redis and Postgres.

Steps

  1. Check the live catalog (list_diagram_types or uml://types); the bundled plugins are on by default, but a server may turn them off with plugins.bundled: false.
  2. Read the type's example from uml://examples and keep its field names.
  3. Call validate_uml; an error names the field and, for a bad reference, lists the known ids, so fix it and validate again.
  4. Render with generate_uml_image for a chat image, or generate_uml with output_format: "html" for the interactive page in the MCP App viewer. Clients without MCP Apps still get the PNG and SVG.
  5. Pass theme (auto, dark, light) rather than editing colours.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
