umlet

umlet is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from antoinebou12/uml-mcp. It costs 56 tokens per session (702 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A UMLet diagram-writing guide for UXF XML, the XML format used by UMLet to store diagrams. UML diagrams describe software elements such as classes, attributes, methods, and relationships.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create UML class boxes and other diagram elements with coordinates, attributes, methods, and visibility markers. The result can be rendered as PNG, SVG, or JPEG.
Why use it?
It helps avoid malformed XML and clipped labels when creating UMLet diagrams. It also explains how to format class visibility and size elements for readable output.

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00056 $0.00702
Opus 5.5 $0.00022 $0.00281
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00140
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00070

Measured 14d ago against content hash 21f5b583afc7, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

umlet scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 14d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

UMLet UML diagrams from UXF XML source

Load the workflow skill uml-mcp-diagrams for URL-first replies, progressive discovery, and which MCP tool to call. This file is notation only; it does not add an MCP tool.

Notation tips

  • Source is UMLet UXF XML (<umlet_diagram> + <element> with panel_attributes).
  • Class boxes: name, --, then attributes/methods. Visibility is a single + / - / # (never ++ — UMLet treats ++ as invalid and clips).
  • Size <w> ≥ ~8× longest line length (zoom 10) or labels clip at the box edge.

Styling

  • UXF has no theme switch; sizing and +/-/# visibility are the polish.
  • No MCP theme param.

Starter template

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<umlet_diagram>
  <zoom_level>10</zoom_level>
  <element>
    <id>UMLClass</id>
    <coordinates>
      <x>10</x>
      <y>10</y>
      <w>160</w>
      <h>80</h>
    </coordinates>
    <panel_attributes>Hello
--
+world()
</panel_attributes>
    <additional_attributes/>
  </element>
</umlet_diagram>

Example

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<umlet_diagram>
  <zoom_level>10</zoom_level>
  <element>
    <id>UMLClass</id>
    <coordinates>
      <x>10</x>
      <y>10</y>
      <w>180</w>
      <h>90</h>
    </coordinates>
    <panel_attributes>Account
--
-balance: decimal
+deposit()
</panel_attributes>
    <additional_attributes/>
  </element>
</umlet_diagram>

Render with uml-mcp

  1. Set diagram_type to umlet exactly.
  2. Call validate_uml when the source is untrusted (prefer strict: true for Mermaid sequence).
  3. Call generate_uml, generate_uml_image (chat PNG), or generate_uml_batch.
  4. Pass theme when this skill's Themes section lists supported values.
  5. Surface the returned url / playground (see the workflow skill).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
