Getting it into your agent
It runs from inside its repository, so the clone comes first — what it calls does not travel with the file alone.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00046 | $0.00861 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00018 | $0.00344 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00009 | $0.00172 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00005 | $0.00086 |
Grade A, and why
sw-team scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 20d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 70 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
sw-team: several agents, one increment
Agents can be Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok, another account or a person. They
coordinate only through committed files: spec.md (tasks), ledger.jsonl (claims and
evidence) and handoffs. No message bus is needed; your tool's subagents or agent teams
are an accelerator, never a requirement.
You are the lead
You split, start, watch, merge and close. You do not implement. Fan out only with three or more disjoint lanes or 15+ tasks; otherwise use sw-do.
1. Split
Filesis the ownership unit. Two tasks that touch one file cannot run in parallel: merge them, or put**Dependencies**: T-01under the later one. Shared contracts (types, schema, migrations) go in an early task the others depend on.- Group tasks into lanes with disjoint
Files: 2 to 5 lanes, one agent each. specweave task list 0042shows every task open. Commit spec.md.
2. Start each agent
One worktree and branch per agent:
git worktree add ../0042-api -b inc/0042-api. Then give that agent (a subagent, a
terminal in the worktree, another tool or account) this brief:
You are agent "api" on increment 0042 in ../0042-api (branch inc/0042-api).
Your tasks: T-01, T-02. Run the sw-do loop (`specweave task next 0042`, claim, ...)
on your tasks only. Edit only their Files. Commit as "0042: ...". `task done --run`
needs exit 0. When done or blocked: `specweave task release --all-mine`,
`specweave note "api: <done | blocked: why>" 0042`, commit and push your branch.
Set SPECWEAVE_AGENT=api in that agent's environment so its claims are distinct.
In Claude Code, specweave team opens agent-team panes for the same setup.
3. Watch cheaply
Poll specweave task list 0042 instead of chatting. blocked rows are your queue:
unblock (supply the secret, split the task, decide) and tell only that agent. A claim
older than 2 hours with no progress is stale; a replacement agent claims it with
specweave task claim T-NN --force. Agents' notes show in specweave pickup --no-apply.
Lane agents do not use specweave handoff: it moves the one shared handoff pointer.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

sw-team is a skill published in the GitHub repository anton-abyzov/specweave (165 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 46 tokens to every session and 861 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-26.
