commit-and-track

commit-and-track is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from antropos17/Aegis. It costs 34 tokens per session (240 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for committing and pushing completed AEGIS changes to Git, the version-control system used to record and share code changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect staged and unstaged changes, stage only the intended files or edits, commit, push when authorized, and report CI evidence afterward.
Why use it?
It prevents unrelated work from entering a commit and makes the final commit, branch, push, and available checks clear.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.00240
Opus 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00096
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00048
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00024

Security

Grade A, and why

commit-and-track scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Commit and track

Use the active session's authorization and the selected checkout's AGENTS.md. For a commit/push request, apply isolation, verification, staging and commit/push steps from docs/development/workflow.md#git-and-pr-cycle. Stop at the requested outcome; use ship for an authorized PR/merge cycle. An audit or prompt request alone does not call for publication.

Inspect both the index and working tree. Stage only identified task paths or intended hunks; a mixed index must not pull unrelated work into the commit. Canonical skills live in tools/agent-skills/; ignored installed copies stay local. Format only task paths when necessary.

After pushing, use ci-monitor for the actual commit or PR. If CI triggers only on master and PRs, an absent feature-branch run before PR creation is expected. Report commit, branch, push status and available checks. Reuse passing evidence only for unchanged relevant inputs.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

commit-and-track is a skill published in the GitHub repository antropos17/Aegis (157 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 34 tokens to every session and 240 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-17.
