Apache Magpie is a framework of agent-assisted workflows for maintaining Apache software projects, including issue triage, pull-request review, contributor mentoring, and security-report handling. Apache maintainers and developers use it to delegate repetitive project work to coding agents while retaining human review. Its catalogue entries are the skills, instructions, plugin, and settings that implement these workflows.
Getting it into your agent
This one installs as part of its plugin. Adding the marketplace and installing the plugin brings it with everything else the plugin ships.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00050 | $0.06994 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00020 | $0.02798 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00010 | $0.01399 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00005 | $0.00699 |
Grade B, and why
isolated-setup-update scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

.claude/, .codex/, .gemini/ hold keys, settings and other credentials a mod has no legitimate need for.
Read `enabledPlugins` in `~/.claude/settings.json`. How it starts

Runtime routing (run before the Claude-specific drift report)
Use the operator's explicitly requested runtime when supplied; otherwise use the active session's runtime. An installed executable or configuration directory alone does not select a runtime. For the routing below, treat that selection as the active harness.
When the active harness is Codex, compare the installed .codex policy with the framework sources described in docs/adapters/codex.md.
Surface policy, rules, and tested-version drift; never auto-weaken or silently overwrite a hand-edited policy.
Then stop.
The remainder of this skill is the Claude Code update branch.
When the selected runtime is Antigravity, follow docs/adapters/antigravity.md: compare the user-scope profile, guard path, wrapper, and runtime version with the framework's shipped profile. Report drift and proposed changes only; do not apply changes or require Claude configuration. Then stop before the Claude-specific drift report below.
When the selected runtime is Pi, follow docs/adapters/pi.md: compare the installed framework package's ref, the Pi version and the wrapper with the framework's current ones.
Report drift and the pi update --extensions refresh only; do not apply changes or require Claude configuration.
Then stop before the Claude-specific drift report below.
When the selected runtime is Copilot CLI, follow docs/adapters/copilot.md: report hook drift against the framework copy; never loosen policy automatically.
When the harness is Claude Code, continue below. If the harness cannot be determined, ask once.
What ships with it
1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

isolated-setup-update is a skill published in the GitHub repository apache/magpie (128 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 50 tokens to every session and 6,994 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (reads agent configuration directories). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-14.
