In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to connect an application to a Shopify Public App and manage store data, products, customers, or orders.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00077 $0.02528
Opus 5.5 $0.00031 $0.01011
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00506
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00253

Security

Grade A, and why

shopify-public-app scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Shopify (Public App) (via Apideck)

Access Shopify (Public App) through Apideck's Ecommerce unified API — one of 17 Ecommerce connectors that share the same method surface. Code you write here ports to Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and 13 other Ecommerce connectors by changing a single serviceId string. Apideck handles auth, pagination, rate limiting, and retries so you don't write per-tenant Shopify (Public App) plumbing.

Beta connector. Shopify (Public App) is currently in beta on Apideck. Expect partial resource coverage and occasional mapping gaps. Always verify coverage (see below) and fall back to the Proxy API for unsupported operations.

Quick facts

At a glance

  • Implementation difficulty: moderate — Public Distribution Requires Shopify App Review
  • Vendor partnership required: yes (Shopify Partner Program) — A Shopify Partner account gives you app creation, unlimited test stores and the Client ID and Client secret for your own app.
  • Apideck-managed credentials: not available — Each connection uses your own Shopify app.
  • Account type required: A Shopify store.
  • Consumer access level: Someone who can approve an app installation on the store, typically the store owner.
  • Sandbox: available (signup) — Development stores from the Dev Dashboard or the Shopify CLI; they cannot process real transactions or become production stores.
  • Costs: The Shopify Partner Program is free to join.
  • Rate limits: GraphQL Admin API, per app and store: 100 points per second on Standard, 200 on Advanced, 1,000 on Plus and 2,000 on enterprise plans.
  • Authentication: Authorization code grant with Shopify's expiring offline access tokens, refreshed automatically by Apideck; each connection also supplies a shop name.
  • Webhooks: Native - order, product and customer events (created, updated, deleted), plus paid, shipped, refunded and delivered order events.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
