What is cohort-retention?

A table that tracks subscribers who joined in the same month and shows how many remain over time. A cohort is a group of customers sharing a starting point, such as their signup month.

Use it to measure retention after one, two, three, or six months, compare signup-month groups, and find the period with the largest drop.

It shows when customers tend to leave and whether newer signup groups stay longer or generate more recurring revenue than older ones.

Stripe MCP Setup

Requires Stripe MCP (https://docs.stripe.com/mcp). GetMcpTools before CallMcpTool. Paginate all lists (limit: 100, starting_after while has_more). Amounts in cents. Read-only for audits; confirm before writes.

Workflow

List subscriptions (all statuses) with created and canceled_at/ended_at
Bucket by signup month (created)
For each cohort, compute % still active at month 1, 2, 3...
Optionally weight by MRR for revenue retention
