ubiquitous-language

ubiquitous-language is a skill for Claude Code from appleweiping/WEIPING_WIKI. It costs 70 tokens per session (1,050 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of ubiquitous-language, MIT.

A glossary builder for the important terms in a software project's domain. Domain-driven design, or DDD, is an approach that uses shared business language in both discussions and code.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define domain terms, create a shared glossary, resolve synonyms, and save the result in UBIQUITOUS_LANGUAGE.md.
Why use it?
It exposes ambiguous words, conflicting names, and vague concepts so the team can agree on consistent terminology.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00070 $0.01050
Opus 5 $0.00035 $0.00525
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00210
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00105

Security

Grade A, and why

ubiquitous-language scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Ubiquitous Language

Extract and formalize domain terminology from the current conversation into a consistent glossary, saved to a local file.

Process

  1. Scan the conversation for domain-relevant nouns, verbs, and concepts
  2. Identify problems:
    • Same word used for different concepts (ambiguity)
    • Different words used for the same concept (synonyms)
    • Vague or overloaded terms
  3. Propose a canonical glossary with opinionated term choices
  4. Write to UBIQUITOUS_LANGUAGE.md in the working directory using the format below
  5. Output a summary inline in the conversation

Output Format

Write a UBIQUITOUS_LANGUAGE.md file with this structure:

# Ubiquitous Language

## Order lifecycle

| Term | Definition | Aliases to avoid |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------- |
| **Order** | A customer's request to purchase one or more items | Purchase, transaction |
| **Invoice** | A request for payment sent to a customer after delivery | Bill, payment request |

## People

| Term | Definition | Aliases to avoid |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------- | ---------------------- |
| **Customer** | A person or organization that places orders | Client, buyer, account |
| **User** | An authentication identity in the system | Login, account |

## Relationships

- An **Invoice** belongs to exactly one **Customer**
- An **Order** produces one or more **Invoices**

## Example dialogue

> **Dev:** "When a **Customer** places an **Order**, do we create the **Invoice** immediately?"
> **Domain expert:** "No — an **Invoice** is only generated once a **Fulfillment** is confirmed. A single **Order** can produce multiple **Invoices** if items ship in separate **Shipments**."
> **Dev:** "So if a **Shipment** is cancelled before dispatch, no **Invoice** exists for it?"
> **Domain expert:** "Exactly. The **Invoice** lifecycle is tied to the **Fulfillment**, not the **Order**."

## Flagged ambiguities

- "account" was used to mean both **Customer** and **User** — these are distinct concepts: a **Customer** places orders, while a **User** is an authentication identity that may or may not represent a **Customer**.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
