concurrent

concurrent is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from arbazkhan971/godmode. It costs 32 tokens per session (2,181 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Guidance for designing and reviewing programs that do several tasks at the same time, using threads, asynchronous code, actors, or related models.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building or debugging multi-threaded or asynchronous systems, especially when choosing a concurrency model or investigating timing-related bugs.
Why use it?
It helps identify and prevent problems such as race conditions, deadlocks, unsafe shared data, and unpredictable test failures.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00032 $0.02181
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.01091
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00436
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00218

Security

Grade A, and why

concurrent scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Concurrent -- Concurrency & Parallelism

Activate When

  • User invokes /godmode:concurrent
  • User says "thread safety", "race condition", "deadlock", "lock-free"
  • User says "async/await", "actor model", "parallelism", "concurrent"
  • User says "mutex", "semaphore", "channel", "goroutine", "tokio"
  • When building multi-threaded or async systems
  • When /godmode:review flags potential race conditions or deadlocks
  • When /godmode:test reveals non-deterministic test failures

Workflow

Step 1: Concurrency Context Assessment

Understand the concurrency requirements before designing solutions:

CONCURRENCY CONTEXT:
Project: <name and purpose>
Language/Runtime: <Go | Rust | Node.js | Python | Java | Erlang/Elixir>
Concurrency Model: Threads | Green Threads | Event Loop | Actor Model | CSP
Current Issues: <race conditions, deadlocks, performance bottlenecks, none>
Shared State: <what mutable state is shared across concurrent units>
I/O Profile: CPU-bound | I/O-bound | Mixed
Scale: <concurrent connections/operations expected>
  ...

If the user has not provided context, ask: "What language/runtime are you using, and is the workload primarily CPU-bound or I/O-bound? This determines the right concurrency model."

Step 2: Thread Safety Analysis

Identify shared mutable state and classify access patterns:

SHARED STATE INVENTORY:
| State | Access Pattern | Protection | Risk |
|--|--|--|--|
| <variable/resource> | Read-Write | <mutex/none> | HIGH |
| <variable/resource> | Read-Only | None needed | LOW |
| <variable/resource> | Write-Only | <channel> | MED |

CRITICAL SECTIONS:
  ...

Rules:

  • Identify every piece of shared mutable state before writing any concurrent code
  • Prefer immutable data and message passing over shared mutable state
  • If shared mutable state is unavoidable, protect it with the narrowest possible lock scope
  • Document every critical section and its invariants

Step 3: Race Condition Detection

Systematically check for race conditions:

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

concurrent is a skill published in the GitHub repository arbazkhan971/godmode (26 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 32 tokens to every session and 2,181 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
