claim-chart

claim-chart is a skill for Claude Code from arcprime-ip/patent-prompts. It costs 33 tokens per session (272 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for mapping the parts of patent claims to features of a product. The resulting claim chart supports infringement analysis, which examines whether a product may violate patent rights.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to compare independent patent claims with a product’s architecture, features, and specifications, optionally using technical documents or patent records.
Why use it?
It organizes technical comparisons and applies different infringement theories while limiting unsupported assumptions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00033 $0.00272
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00136
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00054
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

claim-chart scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Claim Chart Generation

Generate a detailed claim chart mapping patent claim elements to features of an accused product, applying literal infringement, induced infringement, and doctrine of equivalents analysis with strict anti-speculation rules.

This skill benefits from web search to gather product technical details.

Instructions

  1. Read the prompt file at ${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../portfolio/claim-chart/prompt.md
  2. Extract the prompt section (between the --- delimiters)
  3. Ask the user for the required inputs if not already provided via $ARGUMENTS:
    • Independent claims to chart
    • Product description (technical architecture, features, specs)
    • Web search results (optional, or use web search tool if available)
    • Patent specification (optional, for claim construction context)
    • Prosecution history (optional)
  4. Fill in the {{PLACEHOLDER}} values with the user's content
  5. If web search is available, search for product technical documentation
  6. Execute the prompt to generate the claim chart
  7. Present the output to the user
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

claim-chart is a skill published in the GitHub repository arcprime-ip/patent-prompts (20 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 33 tokens to every session and 272 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
