flutter-webview-production-engineering

flutter-webview-production-engineering is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ariaramin/flutter-skills. It costs 115 tokens per session (4,822 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A coding guide for embedding web pages inside Flutter apps with a WebView. A WebView is a platform browser component shown within an app, with its own navigation, cookies, storage, JavaScript, and security concerns.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for WebView controllers and widgets, allowed-domain rules, JavaScript channels, cookies and sessions, OAuth flows, downloads and uploads, media, errors, accessibility, testing, and migrations.
Why use it?
It helps keep the app, the embedded browser, and the web page working together safely. It addresses navigation rules, login handoffs, JavaScript communication, loading behavior, permissions, performance, and platform differences.

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00115 $0.04822
Opus 5.5 $0.00046 $0.01929
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00023 $0.00964
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00482

Security

Grade A, and why

flutter-webview-production-engineering scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Flutter WebView Production Engineering

Treat a WebView as a heavyweight platform-owned browser runtime and a security boundary, not as an ordinary Flutter widget. A production flow must reason about three systems at once:

Flutter application
      ↕
platform WebView integration
      ↕
web/browser runtime + page

Optimize and secure the complete pipeline rather than only the Dart wrapper.

Reference routing

Read only what the task needs:

1. Decide whether WebView is justified

Before adding a WebView, answer: Answer before coding: Why must the content remain embedded; Could Flutter render it more safely and accessibly; Could the system browser be a better trust boundary; Is authentication involved; Does the provider allow embedded user agents; Which origins may load; Is JavaScript required; Does the page need native app capabilities; Which camera/microphone/location/file permissions are required; How many simultaneous browser instances can exist; What is the lifecycle when hidden, backgrounded, logged out, or closed; Is Flutter web also a target. Prefer:

native product UI → Flutter widgets
first-party embedded web app → webview_flutter
arbitrary external browsing → system browser
OAuth/OIDC → provider-approved system auth/browser flow
background media → dedicated media APIs
large download → application/native download stack

Do not embed a browser merely because rendering HTML is convenient.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
