atlas-mssql

atlas-mssql is a skill for Claude Code from ariga/atlas. It costs 147 tokens per session (3,594 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Database schema guidance for using Atlas with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL. It explains their connection settings, database modes, compatibility levels, collations, constraints, and SQL batches.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when managing SQL Server or Azure SQL schemas, tables, columns, permissions, indexes, and development databases with Atlas.
Why use it?
SQL Server has its own naming, type, indexing, and migration rules. This guidance helps Atlas produce changes that match those rules.

About the project

Atlas is a language-independent tool that treats a database schema as code and manages changes to it through declarative or versioned migrations. Developers use it to describe, compare, plan, lint, and apply database schemas expressed in SQL, HCL, or an ORM. The catalogue entries provide add-ons for operating Atlas workflows.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00147 $0.03594
Opus 5.5 $0.00059 $0.01438
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00029 $0.00719
Haiku 4.5 $0.00015 $0.00359

Security

Grade A, and why

atlas-mssql scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Atlas for SQL Server

What is specific to SQL Server when Atlas manages the schema. The atlas skill covers the workflows and commands; this skill covers the rules, edge cases, and answers that differ on SQL Server. Behavior is described for SQL Server 2022; where a compatibility level changes it, the text says so. Azure SQL Database follows the same rules, and Fabric Data Warehouse has a guide of its own (https://atlasgo.io/guides/azure-fabric).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
