traefik

traefik is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ashish7802/awesome-api-skills. It costs 0 tokens per session (716 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A deployment guide for Traefik, a reverse proxy that sends web traffic to services running in Docker or Kubernetes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to route traffic in Docker, Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes environments and connect services to domains and entry points.
Why use it?
It reduces manual routing work by discovering services and applying routes without repeated configuration reloads.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00716
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00358
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00143
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00072

Security

Grade A, and why

traefik scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Quick Start

Traefik is a dynamic reverse proxy. It automatically discovers services running in Docker or Kubernetes and routes traffic to them without requiring manual configuration reloads.

docker-compose up -d

Production Patterns

Docker Label Routing

When running a Docker Swarm or Compose cluster, you do not write Traefik configuration files. You simply attach labels to your application containers (traefik.http.routers.my-app.rule=Host('example.com')). Traefik dynamically detects the container and routes traffic.

Architecture & Scaling

Kubernetes Ingress

Traefik natively implements the Kubernetes Ingress specification. It seamlessly reads your Ingress objects or custom IngressRoute CRDs and dynamically updates its routing table.

Error Recovery

Traefik includes an internal dashboard on port 8080. If routes are failing (404), check the dashboard to ensure Traefik has successfully discovered the container and parsed the routing rule correctly.

Security Notes

Traefik supports automatic Let's Encrypt generation. When running multiple Traefik replicas in Kubernetes, you must use a distributed key-value store (like Consul) to store the TLS certificates, otherwise replicas will hit ACME rate limits.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

traefik is a skill published in the GitHub repository ashish7802/awesome-api-skills (13 stars, last pushed 8d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 716 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
