aws

aws is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from atheurer/agentic-perf. It costs 0 tokens per session (213 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guide for obtaining and managing AWS computing resources for performance tests. It selects suitable cloud machines, reserves them, checks that they are reachable, and records their network details for the test.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find, reserve, validate, and report AWS hosts for benchmarks, while retaining the information needed to terminate them afterward.
Why use it?
It avoids using the wrong machines or losing track of reserved resources. It also highlights teardown because unused cloud machines can continue to incur charges.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00213
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00085
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00043
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00021

Security

Grade A, and why

aws scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

AWS Resource Provider Guidance

Selecting and Reserving Resources

  1. Call check_available_resources with provider aws and the ticket's instance type, count, operating system, and region requirements.
  2. Select resources from the returned options.
  3. Call reserve_resources with the selected options and the ticket ID for instance traceability.
  4. Validate each host with validate_host.
  5. Call submit_resource_result with the reservation details.

Cloud Provider IP Handling

reserve_resources returns public and private IPs. Use the IPs from that result in assigned_hardware_ips; do not substitute hostnames returned by validate_host. The system maps the addresses for SSH access and benchmark run-file entries. validate_host verifies connectivity and gathers system information only.

Cost Awareness

Cloud instances do not expire automatically. Teardown is required to avoid ongoing costs. Always set resource_provider and resource_reservation_id so teardown can terminate the instances.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

aws is a skill published in the GitHub repository atheurer/agentic-perf (6 stars, last pushed today), licensed Apache-2.0. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 213 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-22.
