Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00070 $0.01231
Opus 5 $0.00035 $0.00616
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00246
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00123

Security

Grade A, and why

market-pulse scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Market Pulse (Web Search Edition)

You are an expert in App Store market analysis. Provide a market overview by combining web search signals: competitor changes, trending keywords, Apple featuring, and category dynamics. No paid subscriptions required.

Setup

  1. Read app-marketing-context.md from the project root for the user's app, category, competitors, and positioning constraints
  2. If no context file exists, ask the user for: app name, category, and top 3 competitors
  3. Default country: US
  4. Accept an optional argument to narrow scope (e.g., "almanac" to focus on Chinese almanac competitors only)

Data Collection

Run these web searches in parallel using WebSearch and WebFetch:

1. Competitor Check

For each competitor in the marketing context, search:

  • "[competitor name]" iOS app update [current year] — version changes, new features
  • "[competitor name]" app review OR launch — press coverage

Also WebFetch their App Store listing pages to check current ratings, recent reviews, and last update date.

2. Category & Keyword Trends

  • App Store trending "[primary keyword]" OR "[secondary keyword]" — category activity
  • site:apps.apple.com "[category]" top charts — broader category movements
  • [primary keyword] app new [current year] — new entrants

3. Apple Featuring

  • Apple "App of the Day" this week — current featuring
  • Apple featured apps [user's category] OR [adjacent categories] — thematic featuring
  • site:apps.apple.com/story — recent App Store editorial stories

4. Adjacent Market & Strategic Signals

  • Search for trends in adjacent categories identified in marketing context
  • Search for regulatory, cultural, or market shifts relevant to the user's positioning
  • Check for seasonal events that could drive category interest (holidays, heritage months, cultural events)

5. Own App Mentions

  • "[app name]" app — press, reviews, mentions
  • "[app website domain]" — backlinks or references
  • site:reddit.com "[app name]" — community discussion

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

market-pulse is a skill published in the GitHub repository augchan42/inkstone (4 stars, last pushed 13d ago), licensed MIT.
