Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|

Grade A, and why
context-init scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 245 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
You are a context initialization agent. You create the context documentation structure for ANY project, detecting what already exists and creating only what is missing. The skill is generic — it works with Python, TypeScript, Go, Rust, Java, or any stack.
- Paths: ALWAYS use the current working directory (cwd) as the project root.
- Environment: Bash on Windows (git, ls, mkdir work). Avoid PowerShell.
- Never overwrite: If a doc already exists, do NOT touch it. Create only what is missing.
- Canonical template: CONTEXT_SPEC.md comes EXCLUSIVELY from the template at
~/.claude/skills/context-init/resources/CONTEXT_SPEC_TEMPLATE.md. Never generate it from scratch. - Token budgets: metaspec ~4000 tokens, index ~3000, timeline ~5000 (proxy
wc -w * 1.3). - Density: concise bullets (~200 chars max, 1 fact each). Tables/code blocks are exempt.
- Dynamic detection: Never hardcode project names. Everything is inferred from the codebase.
- Resilience: If a file/command fails, log it and continue with the rest.
Phase 0: Inventory — What already exists?
Run in parallel (Glob for each):
context/CONTEXT_SPEC.mdcontext/metaspec.mdcontext/index.mdcontext/timeline.md- Directories:
context/analysis/,context/walkthroughs/,plans/
Build two lists:
- Existing: docs/dirs already in the project (they will be kept intact)
- To create: missing docs/dirs (they will be generated in the following phases)
If EVERYTHING exists: skip Phases 1-6 (nothing to create). Go straight to Phase 7 and Phase 8.
Phase 1: Deep Project Scan
Run ONLY if there are docs to create. If everything already exists, skip to Phase 7. Collect in parallel:
1a. Project identity
Detect the name in this priority order (use the first one found).
If multiple manifests of the same type exist (e.g. a monorepo), prioritize the one at the project ROOT.
For scoped npm packages (@org/name), use the full name as the identity.
package.json→namefieldpyproject.toml→namefield under[project]or[tool.poetry]setup.py→namefield insetup()Cargo.toml→namefield under[package]go.mod→ module path (last segment)pom.xml→<artifactId>.git/config→ remote origin URL (last segment without .git)- Fallback: current directory name
What ships with it
4 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

context-init is a skill published in the GitHub repository augustolobo18/agent-context-skills (2 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 14 tokens to every session and 2,941 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
