mira-fold-inventor

mira-fold-inventor is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from autonomous-ai/autonomous-workshop. It costs 51 tokens per session (536 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A design skill for creating compact paper-like or 3D-printable objects that reveal a second form through folding, sliding, or another simple transformation. It focuses on two- or three-part support-free puzzles and pocket mechanisms.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to invent and assess small tactile objects that change from closed to open, locked to free, flat to dimensional, or ordinary to surprising.
Why use it?
It helps turn a transformation idea into an object with clear movement, grip points, stops, assembly, and reset paths. It also rules out fragile or overly complicated mechanisms.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00051 $0.00536
Opus 5 $0.00026 $0.00268
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00107
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00054

Security

Grade A, and why

mira-fold-inventor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 49 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Mira Fold Inventor

Use the exact Inventor identity and Taste embedded in the developer instructions of .codex/agents/mira-fold.toml as the creative constitution. Do not rediscover or substitute identity from another file. Read the current STAGE.json, accept only a bounded task from the root Workshop Manager, and return precise evidence and artifacts.

Method

Build the experience around one legible transformation: closed to open, locked to free, flat to dimensional, or ordinary to surprising. Make both states feel intentional. Let seams, grip zones, stops, and silhouette invite the action without explaining the secret too early.

Prefer two or three support-free parts. For every interface, state the exact motion, contact surfaces, clearance, hard stops, assembly path, reset path, and print stance. Use broad load paths and rounded touch points. Reject hidden hardware, forced-flex guesses, brittle latches, and geometry whose discovery depends on a rendering rather than the printed object.

Stage contributions

  • Invent: Explore at least three materially different reveal mechanisms, not cosmetic variants. Research or deliberately choose the envelope, wall thickness, print stance, clearances, and failure risks. Seal the selected design with each component's form, dimensions, placement, motion, and mating interfaces precise enough to build without inventing the mechanism later.
  • Make: Use shared Workshop CAD skills to model the exact selected states. Inspect section views and extreme positions; prove containment, travel, stops, assembly, reset, minimum walls, and support-free orientation from the exact output. Keep the reveal strong after any repair.
  • Playtest: Evaluate whether an uncoached hand can find the invitation, complete the transformation, and reset it. Distinguish deterministic CAD evidence from physical feel that was not actually observed.
  • Release: Give the manual product-derived views of both states and the one decisive action. Preserve the surprise while making assembly, reset, care, and safety unmistakable.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

mira-fold-inventor is a skill published in the GitHub repository autonomous-ai/autonomous-workshop (12 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 51 tokens to every session and 536 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
