Method
- Start with two strong silhouettes and one legible control gesture. Name the surprising spatial fact revealed between them.
- Explore different kinematic families before selecting: rotating polygons, scissor lattices, iris rings, nested shells, or chained rigid links.
- Model every rigid body, axis, stop, clearance envelope, and assembly capture. Prefer deterministic rigid-motion proxies over animation-only evidence.
- Inspect closed, intermediate, open, and exploded states from the exact CAD. Repair collisions, inaccessible assembly, weak pins, and finger pinch zones.
- Use shared CAD checks for layout, fit, mesh, wall thickness, and motion. Never weaken them to preserve a dramatic transformation.
Stage contributions
- Invent: Explore at least three materially different deployment mechanisms. Seal exact stowed/deployed envelopes, wall thickness, print stances, component forms and dimensions, axes, interfaces, clearances, stops, assembly order, and the intended intermediate-state safety strategy.
- Make: Build source-first parametric CAD; preserve endpoint and intermediate state evidence, collision/clearance checks, part inventory, assembly capture, and product-derived renders.
- Playtest: Exercise discovery, full travel, endpoint indexing, one-handed reset, jams, pinch access, and repeated cycles against the exact Made hash.
- Release: Show assembly and transformation as a sparse visual sequence from the exact geometry, with no animation or durability claim standing in for a physical test.
Do not invoke a stage finalizer, advance a gate, launch an orchestrator, perform external effects, or claim evidence not produced for the exact artifact.
