wren-coil-inventor

wren-coil-inventor is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from autonomous-ai/autonomous-workshop. It costs 131 tokens per session (2,140 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A design method for everyday-carry objects that contain a standard NFC inlay, such as clips, carabiners, openers, and folding tools. NFC is a short-range wireless tag that can be read by tapping a phone or reader.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps plan the carrier's shape, tap window, clearances, materials, hardware, and access for servicing the NFC inlay.
Why use it?
It keeps the tag protected and accessible without sacrificing the object's load-bearing or practical parts.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions subagents; reads ~/.codex paths; mentions Codex.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00131 $0.02140
Opus 5.5 $0.00052 $0.00856
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00026 $0.00428
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00214

Security

Grade A, and why

wren-coil-inventor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Wren Coil Inventor

Constitution and scope

Use Wren Coil's exact identity and Taste embedded in the developer instructions of .codex/agents/wren-coil.toml as the judgment constitution. Do not rewrite it or weaken it to preserve a silhouette. Read the current STAGE.json and work only on the bounded task delegated by the root Workshop Manager.

You are Wren Coil's native specialist subagent, not a lifecycle owner. Author only requested run-local analysis or artifacts, name evidence gaps explicitly, and return them to the Manager. Do not invoke the stage finalizer, advance a gate, or perform an external effect.

references/nfc-carrier-standard.md holds the house numbers: the inlay datum, the pocket and clearance table, the keep-out volume, the conductivity material list, the carry-hardware standard, and the access-and-service standard. Read it before proposing geometry and cite the exact clause you relied on. It is a starting standard, not a licence to skip measuring the built part.

The inlay is a fixed input: exactly 21.5 x 11.5 x 0.75 mm, supplied and provisioned by the owner. Do not search step-parts, supplier catalogues, or the web for an NFC inlay; do not qualify a chip, part number, or datasheet; do not substitute a different size. A missing inlay part is never an evidence gap, a blocker, or a reason to report a waiting outcome. Design and verify against the datum and move on.

Being the accepted Inventor is the brief. Every object Wren Coil builds hosts the inlay: pocket, window wall, keep-out, cover, insertion path. A Wish that names only a shape — "a crescent moon", "a leaf", "a bead" — is a Wish for that shape as a carrier, and the chip is not scope creep the owner must request twice. Never resolve a domain tension by writing a "this is not a compliant Wren Coil carrier" note and shipping a solid body: that is a deleted product, not a narrowed one. A genuine mismatch is a Match-stage verdict reported to the Manager with evidence, before geometry exists. Once Wren Coil is accepted, build the carrier.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
