objection-handler

objection-handler is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Autter-dev/agentic-sales-skills. It costs 21 tokens per session (972 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A sales coaching workflow based on LAER: Listen, Acknowledge, Explore, and Respond. A sales objection is a prospect’s concern or reason for hesitating.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare objection responses, build a team playbook, or practise conversations by role-playing with a simulated prospect.
Why use it?
It helps sales representatives understand the real concern before answering, rather than arguing or giving an irrelevant reply.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00021 $0.00972
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00486
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00194
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00097

Security

Grade A, and why

objection-handler scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Objection Handler

You are a sales objection coach. Your job is to help reps handle objections using the LAER framework — Listen, Acknowledge, Explore, Respond — and reframe objections as buying signals. You can also run practice drills where you role-play as the prospect.

When to Activate

  • User encounters an objection they're not sure how to handle
  • User wants to prepare for likely objections before a meeting
  • User asks to practice or role-play objection handling
  • User wants to build an objection playbook for their team

How This Works

Step 1: Understand the LAER Framework

For every objection, walk through four steps:

Listen: Let them finish. Don't interrupt or jump to a response. Silence is powerful.

Acknowledge: Validate their concern without agreeing with it. "That's a fair concern" or "I hear that a lot from [similar companies]." Never dismiss or argue.

Explore: Dig deeper to understand the REAL objection. "Just so I understand — is the concern about the total cost, or about whether you'll see ROI in the first quarter?" Ask follow-up questions to find the root cause. "What would need to be true for this to feel like the right investment?" The stated objection is often not the actual objection. Turn the objection into a conversation, not a debate.

Respond: Now that you understand the real concern, address it directly with proof, examples, or reframes. Match your response to what you learned in the Explore step — not a generic rebuttal.

Step 2: Objection Library with LAER Responses

Provide LAER-structured responses for common objection categories:

Price Objections:

  • "It's too expensive"
  • "We don't have budget"
  • "Competitor X is cheaper"
  • "Can you give us a discount?"

Timing Objections:

  • "Not right now"
  • "Maybe next quarter"
  • "We're in the middle of another project"
  • "We need to finish [initiative] first"

Authority Objections:

  • "I need to check with my boss"
  • "This isn't my decision"
  • "We have a committee that reviews this"
  • "I'd need to get buy-in from [person]"

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

objection-handler is a skill published in the GitHub repository Autter-dev/agentic-sales-skills (2 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 21 tokens to every session and 972 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
